Event for The Family Stand Season Ticket Holders

At the end of last season supporters within the family stand were moved from their seats to allow more Rangers fans to attend the final match of the 2015/16 season campaign. The previous board made promises to provide some sort of compensation to those supporters who were forced to move seats, however, they sold the club before the season started.

The new board are very aware of the disruption this caused and would like to make up for it in some small way.

In conjunction with the St Mirren Fans Council, we have arranged an exclusive event for season ticket holders in the family stand. It takes place on Sunday 19 March from 12:30pm to 2:30pm and we will be hosting a family fun afternoon in the 1877 Supporters Club. It’s only for those family stand season tickets who were displaced for that Rangers match and is our way of saying thanks for renewing your season ticket.

There will be much to keep the children and yourselves busy with a children’s disco, face painting and more along with attendance by current and former players. There is no charge to supporters for this event and we will also be providing a buffet.

In addition, the Scotland U17s will be taking on Serbia at the Paisley 2021 Stadium at 3pm and entry is free. So feel free to stay for the rest of the afternoon and watch the Scotland stars of the future.

To allow us to cater for everyone we would appreciate it if you could let us know in advance if you are attending. Please email fanscouncil@stmirren.com to confirm your attendance.

On the day you will need to bring your season ticket with you to gain entry to the SMFC 1877 Club which is situated at the far right hand side of the main stand near the club shop.

Foodbank Collection (Saturday 17th December)

The St Mirren FC Fans Council has once again arranged a foodbank collection for Saturday’s game against Ayr United.

From 2:00pm on Saturday volunteers will be on hand at the stadium to accept all donations as we look to support our local foodbank.

The response to previous food collections has been amazing as kind hearted Buddies support this initiative.

Scratch for Saints

Scratch for Saints, the club’s scratch card scheme, was launched on 26 December, 2015 and has become an instant hit with supporters and the wider community.  The fund raising scheme was devised by a member of the Fans Council to help generate additional revenues to help assist the Youth Academy and other joint projects conceived by the club and the SMFansCouncil.  Its success has enabled us, to generate thousands of pounds to assist with St.Mirren Youth Development . E.g  £1000 towards the purchase of new goal posts for the Academy (in conjunction with SMISA who also contributed £1000) and to provide a further contribution of £1000 to secure new training ground equipment.

Scratch for Saints was carefully devised to ensure that it appealed to the club’s supporters as it also provided prizes of a non-cash nature.  Although it has a maximum cash prize value of £100, season 2015/2016’s cards also provided “Hot Card” prizes that provided a signed team shirt for lucky winners.  The ratio of winning cards was also set at 1:25 to ensure that fans were provided a greater chance of winning prizes.

This season, 2016/2017 we have improved the Hot Card prizes to provide FREE gym membership for a year (worth over £300) and this has been provided by our card sponsors, Planet Bodybuild in Paisley.  The new card design features two of the 1987 Scottish Cup winning squad – Tony Fitzpatrick and Billy Abercrombie – and also provides a FREE gym day pass for ALL cards bought.  Card buyers present their used scratch card and can enjoy a gym visit, guided tuition and a discounted membership fee.

NEW SUPPORTERS CLUB LAUNCHED THE SMFC 1877 CLUB

With effect from Thursday 25th June 2015 applications are invited for membership of the all new St.Mirren supporters club,The SMFC 1877 Club.

It will be based in the stadium at the current void area of the main stand which will be developed over the next few months to create a family friendly, sports cafe / bar area for club members.

Memberships are being offered to all St.Mirren supporters on a first come first served basis with places limited to 300 due to the capacity of the void area.

SUPPORTERS CLUB UPDATE-10th August,2015

LIMITED NUMBER OF PLACES STILL AVAILABLE !

We launched our new stadium based supporters club, SMFC 1877 on Thursday 25th June 2015 and within 4 days we received over 300 applications.

Over 225 have completed their application by paying a Founder Members Fee and have had their membership confirmed.

However, not all the applicants have completed the process within the timescale set of 31st July and as a result, we have a small number of memberships (50) still available as at Monday 10th August 2015.

We have left some spare capacity to facilitate a sign in process where members can sign in non-members for a £6 fee.  The fee is to ensure paying members are not disadvantaged.

This is the first stage of building our own stadium based supporters club and we would like to thank all our fellow supporters for helping us build a new home for our supporters …. because we deserve it !

We will update members of the build progress on a regular basis and request members contributions towards memorabilia etc to make this feel every inch a St.Mirren supporters club.

CHAIRMAN

The present Chairman Alan Wardrop, who has completed his two year term of service must stand down in line with the Fans Council constitution and will not stand for re-election.

The present minute secretary is Sarah Murray who has completed her two year term of service and must stand down in line with the Fans Council constitution.

TREASURER

The present treasurer Allan Gallacher has intimated he wishes to stand down after 3 years of valuable service.

Should any meeting members wish to be considered for any of the above executive positions as outlined above then they must register their interest with the present Chairman prior to our next meeting on Wednesday 7th September,2015.

New Committee Appointments

The Fans Council Annual General Meeting was held on Thursday 12th November at the hospitality suite at the stadium despite the best efforts of Hurricane Abigail.

Retiring committe members were Chairman Alan Wardrop, Vice Chairman Eric Crossan and Treasurer Allan Gallagher having completed their two year tenure.

New Chairman Colin Haggerty, Vice Chair Stewart Milton and Treasurer John Allison were unanimously voted in.

Secretary Sarah Murray and Public Relations Representative Alan Murray continue their roles and look forward to helping the new appointments settle in to their roles.

We were delighted both Club Chairman Stewart Gilmour and Manager Ian Murray could attend and answered questions put to them by the weather battered attendees.

St.Mirren TV’s James Hunter filmed the event and this will be put online in the near future.

SMFC 1877 Supporters Club Update

On Boxing Day, 26th December,2015, The Fans Council handed over a cheque for £10,000 to St.Mirren F.C as the supporters club Founder Members contribution (£9,455) and an additional contribution(£545) from The Fans Council’s funds to support the project.

SMFC 1877 SUPPORTERS CLUB IS NOW FULLY SUBSCRIBED !

Monday 22nd February, 2016 was the day the new stadium based supporters club SMFC 1877 Club became fully subscribed.

Applications will continue to be received and placed on a reserve list.

The Fans Council would like to thank our fellow supporters and Founder Members of the new club for their support and enthusiasm for this initiative.

At this time of year, foodbanks are crying out for help and as such we are asking our fans to support a collection at the ground on Saturday 6th December 2014, at our home game against fellow Saints St.Johnstone.

We were delighted with the response we received from kind hearted buddies when we supported Renfrewshire Foodbank in March this year and hope to smash our previous best with your support.

WINTER LOTTERY LAUNCHED 27th October 2014

The mailing to season ticket holders to launch this years winter lottery went out Monday 27th October 2014.
The lottery prizes are £1,000 first prize, £500 second and £250 third.

Counterfoils have to be returned by 13th December 2014 with the draw being made at the Motherwell home game on the 20th December 2014.

Pre-paid envelopes have been supplied in the mailing for cheque returns and both the club reception and collection boxes at the food kiosks (matchdays) will be available for cash and cheque returns, but please do not post cash in the mail.

This years winter lottery hopes to raise funds for a Fans Council initiative to create a St.Mirren supporters fans zone at the stadium.This is the first step in a plan to build a supporters club at the stadium providing a family friendly environment on match days.

With the help of our fellow supporters, The Fans Council are planning to raise funds via the lottery to hire a marquee for our home match against Motherwell on 20th December 2014.

Our plans include a bar (licence approval pending) and TV’s and PlayStations.

To efficiently manage numbers we will be asking supporters to register online to confirm their attendance at supportsmfc@hotmail.co.uk.

ST.MIRREN FANS COUNCIL AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the St.Mirren Fans Council has been announced in line with it’s constitution. The date has been set as Thursday 27th November 2014 at the stadiums corporate dining area, with a 7pm start.

Entry is via the clubs main reception. All St.Mirren supporters are invited and welcome to attend.

After the initial procedures for electing committee members, the evening will be an opportunity to hear a summary of the years achievements to date and the plans for the future.

ST.MIRREN FANS COUNCIL OPEN DAY

Sunday 3rd August 2014 at St.Mirren Park stadium and Airdome

The St.Mirren Fans Council are hosting an open day for our supporters to meet the new and existing players in an open day in conjunction with the club.

It’s a family day which starts at 12.00pm where you can watch the Saints Stars go through their paces at an open training session. The order of play is as follows:

The day will start at 12.00 pm with a training session completed by the first team squad finishing at 1.00pm.

Access to the training session is via the West Stand.

After the training session, the players will be available to meet and give supporters the opportunity for photo’s.

The Fans Council are offering a rare photo opportunity with The Renfrewshire Cup for a small fee of £5 with proceeds shared with the club’s Youth Development Programme.

Other photo opportunities include the “head boards” which have proved popular at the Family stand at the final match of the season.

Community coaches will offer the youngsters a skills session including a “beat the Goalie,” a skills test zone and measure the strength of your shot on the Powershot equipment.

The club shop will be open and The Paisley Panda will add to the fun of the day. The afternoon finishes at 3pm and is FREE and open to all Saints supporters.

Saints Fans Council members Eric Crossan, John Allison and Calum Wardrop get the wheelie bins moved in to place for the food gathering at the Hibs game.

It was a great result on and off the park with a full minibus of food collected by generous buddies as well as a fantastic 2-0 home win.

The day was such a success more collections are planned for Easter and Christmas when families could really do with the additional help of the Renfrewshire Food Bank.

On behalf of The St.Mirren Fans Council, St.Mirren Charitable Trust and Renfrewshire Food Bank we would like to thank our kind hearted supporters for their generousity.

This event was a St.Mirren Charity event supported by The St.Mirren Fans Council.

” A laid back night is planned”

It’s almost one year on from our historic cup win and what will forever more be remembered and known as “St.Mirren’s Day” to all loyal buddies.

With this in mind we are aware many of the towns bars and retailers plan to turn the town black and white for the weekend and we at the Saints Fans Council want to do our bit.

A relaxed social event is planned for Sunday 16th March in the hospitality suite at the stadium. The evening will consist of the Cup Final game being played in the background and quiz teams competing in a friendly St.Mirren
focused quiz.

An added bonus is the support of the club with current Cup winning players attending and captaining your quiz team.
Teams will consist of teams of ten,but don’t worry if you have a smaller group or want to come along on your own, as all Saints fans are welcome and we will team you up with other like minded Saints supporters on the night.

Tickets are priced at £7 and includes one drink at the bar and a finger buffet.

Due to licensing laws this event is restricted to over 18’s only.

Ticket sales will finish on Thursday 13th at 5pm to allow us to finalise numbers for the catering.Based on previous similiar events we have arranged we expect the evening to be a sell out.

Tickets are on sale from the clubs main reception and ticket office up until Thursday 13th March at 5pm.

WINTER LOTTERY RESULTS 2013

Former Saint, Ricky Gillies helped draw the winning tickets for the Saints Fans Council’s Winter lottery

At our Boxing Day game against Dundee United, former Saint Ricky Gillies drew the winning numbers for the The St.Mirren Fans Council winter lottery in support of the clubs Youth Academy.

This lottery’s aim is to help raise funds for the St.Mirren Youth Academy where players such as John McGinn,Jason Naismith, Sean Kelly and Kenny MacLean have progressed.

The results were as follows:
First Prize is Joe Campbell’s winning ticket for £1,000 !
Second Prize is Martin Savage’s ticket winning £500
Third Prize is Graham Hutcheon’s ticket winning £250

The Cup Final revisited

A special evening was held for supporters to re-live the day we won the League Cup for the first time in our history.

Sunday 22nd September 2013 was a very special evening to celebrate and remember our historic League Cup Final victory with the players and management who made it all possible.

The venue was the Corporate Lounge at St.Mirren Park and the evening was attended by members of the Cup winning squad including Manager Danny Lennon, asst Tommy Craig, Club Captain Jim Goodwin,Stevie Thompson, Connor Newton, Gary Teale, Marc McAusland, Paul McGowan, David Van Zanten and John McGinn who all entered into the spirit of the evening by sharing special memories of the day with Marc McAuslands story about his Dad Brian, bringing a tear to a glass eye.

The format involved playing highlights of the semi-final win against Celtic and the euphoria of the Cup Final win against Hearts with a Question and answer session involving the supporters.

Every Saints goal was cheered loudly and it was a welcome feel good evening for both players, management and supporters.The players made themselves available for photo opportunities with the supporters and the Cup. Danny and the boys were cheered regularly for their part with all supporters pulling together on the night to
back Danny and the team.

Previous unseen footage provided some laughs with Jim Goodwins ticket allocation joke bringing down the house.Also, Jim’s reference to his daughter’s comment on the morning of the match stating “it was’nt St.Patricks Day but St.Mirren’s day”, looks prophetic with hindsight.Hopefully, she does the lottery numbers for the Goodwin
family in the future.

Many thanks to the 130 supporters who attended and made the night a sell out.

Special thanks to compares Harry Millan, Phil Clarke and club representatives Campbell Kennedy and Brian Caldwell.

These events don’t happen by their own and Fans Council members who organised the event were Alan Doak,Fraser Burns and Allan Gallacher, who deserve great credit for their efforts to ensure everyone had a great night.

The event raised over £2,500 and the proceeds will be shared between the club and the Saints fans Council for council projects and initiatives for the benefit of all Saints fans.

It was great example of how St.Mirren supporters back their team !

Friday 6th September was the St.Mirren Fans Council’s Club Golf Day in aid of the St.Mirren Youth Development Programme.

Players and staff including Club Captain Jim Goodwin and local heroes Steven Thompson and Marc McAusland, played a round of golf with Saints loyal supporters to raise funds for the clubs youth development programme.

Paisley Golf Club was the venue and their staff could not have looked after the fans and players any better with Paisley Golf Club professional Andy Carlton worthy of special mention as well as the excellent catering staff.

There were various prizes up for grabs on the day including hospitality for 4 at St.Mirren Park, kindly donated by club Commercial Manager Campbell Kennedy.

Club Open Day Monday 6th May 2013

Monday’s holiday gives both fans and players the ideal chance to celebrate our recent national Cup Final win and allow fans the opportunity to attend an official club training session at the ground.

Training commences at 10.15 am to 11.30 am. and entry is FREE via the West Stand.

From 11.00am to 12.00 noon players will be available for autographs and pictures.

There is also the opportunity for supporters to have their picture taken by official club photographer Allen Picken with the Scottish Communities League Cup Final Trophy, with the added bonus of standing on the podium our heroes graced at Hampden.

Pictures will be taken in the new dome from 11.30am to 1.30pm.

Prices for a 10 x 8 photo are £5 if uplifted at the ground or £10 if posted out. There is also an e mail option at £5.

Attendance is free and there will be a range of family activities including “The Power Shot” which measures the strength of your shot as well as a “beat the goalie”.

The Pandas will be there for the kids (and some adults) so make sure you come to St.Mirren Park for a fun bank holiday.
